How to use App Preferences option on your Nokia Asha phone.

When it comes time to switch from using one application to another on your Phone it isn't immediately clear how to do so. Follow along as we walk you through swapping the default application for a particular task. But when its comes to java phones this option might not be there to change the default app with an alternative one.
In Nokia Asha 5xx(OS: Nokia Asha Software Platform 1.4) there was an option Called "App Preferences"(Setting > App Preferences), it'll help you to change the default app(different applications that essentially do the same thing).

If you've ever installed two different applications that essentially do the same thing (music players, web browsers)on your Android device/Smart phone, you'll likely be presented with a small pop-up menu when trying to play a song or open a web page, asking you which application you'd like to complete the action with. This option is also present in Nokia Asha 5xx, allowing the user to choose different applications to open certain content. We have tested it using Facebook app.

Set up Facebook sync with Phone:

1. Download Facebook app from here and install it on your phone. Currently you've two Facebook apps installed on your phone (one is pre-installed).

2. Now click on 'Tap here to get connected' option on the fastlane screen and sync your Facebook account with the phone(skip the step if the phone is already synced).

Open Facebook App using App Preferences option:

3. Goto fastlane screen and drag down to refresh. If there are any update or notification shown on the fastlane screen tap to open it, then the phone ask to choose which Facebook app would you like to use to see the notification. You can check the Always use the app option if you like.Keep in mind you have to login with the same facebook account in both apps.

Clear Preferences:

4. Goto settings > App Preferences and click on Clear button, it will clear the always open setting and ask you to choose which app to use afterward.
